Exhibition of 18 th International Vacuum Congress (IVC-18)

The International Vacuum Congress (IVC), held every three years, has the highest academic level and largest participant number among all the conferences sponsored by the International Union for Vacuum Science, Technique and Applications (IUVSTA). The topics of the IVC cover such fields as vacuum science & technology, surface science & engineering, nanotechnology, information technology, and thin film materials, etc.

It is a platform with great influence for the professionals within the academic research and industrial communities to exchange and share the latest scientific findings and technology development in the above fields. Simultaneously, exhibition of vacuum technology and instruments is also held during the IVC.

The Chinese Vacuum Society (CVS) will organize IVC-18 and Exhibition from August 23 rd to 27 th , 2010 in Beijing . Joined congresses include the International Conference on Nanoscience and Technology (ICN+T 2010), 14th International Conference on Surfaces Science (ICSS-14), 15th International Conference on Scanning Tunneling Microscopy/Spectroscopy and Related Techniques (ICSTM-15), Vacuum and Surface Science Conference of Asia and Australia (VASSCAA-5) .

Taking this opportunity, the CVS will present the world a brand new image of the rapidly developing vacuum science & technology in China and cordially welcomes friends all over the world to come to this grand gathering.

Followings are some issues and notifications concerning the exhibition:

I. Scope:

First, the contents of the exhibition are expected to come from high-technology frontiers, including vacuum science & technology, surface science, applied surface science, thin films, electronic materials & processing, surface engineering, plasma science & technology, and nanotechnology, etc. Second, the applications of vacuum science & technology in such fields as mechanical engineering, electronics, metallurgy, aviation, spaceflight, light industry, chemical industry, food industry, medicine industry, sanitary equipment, printing, construction and decoration are also welcomed to be exhibited.

II. Propaganda

1. The exhibition will be reported by the following professional journals: Vacuum Science & Technology (China), Vacuum (China), Vacuum and Low Temperature,Vacuum Electronics, Sichuan Vacuum, Shanghai Vacuum, Vacuum Communication, CVS bulletin, etc.

2. The exhibition will also be reported by the following public media: CCTV channel on economy, CCTV channel on science & education, CCTV international channel, General Machinery, Chinese Chemical Industry News, Chinese Packaging News, Chinese Medicine News, Chinese Electronics News, Letters of Magnetism Industry, Heat Treatment of Metals, Equipment of Electronic Products Manufacturing, Chinese Industry News, High Technology & Industrialization, Semiconductor Technology, Industrialization of New Materials, Chinese Market News, Abstract of Chinese & Overseas Exhibitions.

3. 4. The tickets will be mailed directly to the (potential) users, by either the organizer or the exhibitors themselves.

5. The tickets will also be available at the exhibition and conference or from the related journals.

6. Expo Directory , which will give brief bilingual introductions to the exhibitors with indexes by region and product, will be accessible free of charge by the visitors.

7. Lectures and seminars will be held during the exhibition, using which the exhibitors can promote their new products and techniques.

III. Regulations for using the exhibition hall.

1. Standard exhibit stand is 9 m 2 ( 3m 3m ). Main equipments: three white fascia panels 2.5m in height and 3m in length and width, one desk, two chairs, one electrical outlet ( 5A , 220V, 1000W), two fluorescent lamps (40W), one wastebasket . Additional furniture and electrical equipments can be rented on-site if needed.

2. The hall ceiling is 3.5m high. There are 80cm 80cm pillars in a few stands. The maximum floor loading is 450 kg /m 2 for the first (ground) floor and 300 kg /m 2 for the second (first) floor. Equipments with larger weight should be placed on the square outside the hall. Note that the panel must be lower than 3.2 m when special exhibition booth is constructed.

3. No nailing, scratching or any other kind of damaging to the floor and walls of the exhibit hall, the pillars, the framework and panels of the booth, the exhibition furniture and other equipments. Neon lamp and iodine-tungsten lamp are not allowed to be used in the hall. No smoking in the hall. No obstruction to the fire safety passages.

IV. Cost.

1 For foreign exhibitors: the rent of a standard stand 9 m 2 3x3m is 20,000 RMBs or 3,000 US dollars. Rent of s ome smaller stands 6 m 2 ( 2 3 m ) in size is 1,5000 RMBs or 2,000 US dollars. Rent of stands on the square outside the exhibition hall is 30 RMBs/m 2 /day.

Row space: the minimum area for renting is 36 m 2 , 2,000 RMBs/m 2 or 300 US dollars/m 2 for foreign exhibitors. Exhibitors setting up stands themselves will be charged additional 50 RMBs /m 2 by the convention center for the cost of the related management . No refund in case of the existence of pillars inside the stands.

2. Up-to-200-word bilingual introductions to the exhibitors and their products will be, free of charge, carried on the Expo Directory .

3. Additional advertisements in Expo Directory : 1,000 RMBs for one black and white page, 5,000 RMBs for one colored foldout, 6,000 RMBs for inside front cover or back cover, 7,000 RMBs for outside back cover.

4. Technical Seminar at the exhibition: 5,000 RMBs/hour (including the fee for multimedia).

5. Other advertisements: a rched door, 3,000RMBs/day; balloon, 2,000 RMBs/day; scroll, 5,000 RMBs for the whole exhibition period.

6. Cancellation: 4 month ahead, 50% of the fee paid by exhibitor will be refunded; 3 month, 30% refunded; less than 1 month ahead, no refunding.

V. Stand Allocation

1. Exhibitors who pay according to the standard for foreigners will be given priority in the stand allocation. The allocation will start around March, 2010.

2. For both domestic and foreign exhibitors, the sequence of priority is as following (after the above item is considered): the more stands an exhibitor rents, the more priority he has; when two exhibitor rent the same number of stands, the one who rents the row space has the priority; when the above two conditions are similar, the priority will be determined according to the time of exhibition fee payment. No payment, no allocation.

VI. Registration and Payment

(1) Registration: Mail or fax the registration form, stamped or signed, to the organizing committee office before January 1 st 2010. Email the bilingual advertisement to be carried in Expo Directory free, up to 200 words, to the committee before the same date. (Handwritten manuscripts will not be accepted).
