Carl Zeiss Designates Varian Vacuum Technologies as a Supply Chain Partner
OBERKOCHEN, Germany May 11, 2009.
Carl Zeiss SMT, global leader in light, electron and ion-optical technologies for industry and R&D, has designated Varian Vacuum Technologies as a Carl Zeiss SMT Supply Chain Partner.
Varian develops specific vacuum solutions for the electron microscopes of Carl Zeiss: for almost 20 years, the company has a close partner of the Nano Technology Systems Division at Carl Zeiss SMT and supports the enhancement of electron microscopes with its outstanding skills and special solutions for the entire vacuum system of an electron microscope.
Varian Vacuum Technologies range of SEM dedicated products includes SEM Turbomolecular Pumps, Ion Pumps, Primary Pumps such as Dry Scroll Pumps, Vacuum Gauges, Accessories, Components and Leak Detectors.
Sergio Piras, Senior Vice President of Varian Inc. and Managing Director of Varian Vacuum Technologies, emphasizes how important this close cooperation is:
Varian Vacuum Technologies and Carl Zeiss have a relationship that is almost 20 years young and is re-energized by the achievement of the Strategic Supplier Status. Varian always recognized the importance of working with an Industry leader such as Carl Zeiss. The many challenges posed by the continuous search for new and innovative solutions to very difficult problems have been a stimulus for us to continuously improve our own capabilities. The need to provide the best technical solutions, the best logistics, the best quality and the best after sales support all encompassed in an economically competitive package has indeed become a way of life for our organization. I believe that the achievement of this privileged status will allow the relationship to grow to new levels of excellence. My personal gratitude goes to Dr. Stenkamp and Mr. Schlindwein and their respective teams who were so instrumental in building a relationship capable of delivering value to both companies and to the end customers who finally utilize the resulting products. I personally and the entire Varian Vacuum Technologies organization look forward to many years of fruitful cooperation with Carl Zeiss
According to Dr. Stephan Becker, Sales & Marketing Director of Varian Vacuum Technologies, this award will challenge Varian even more in the future to provide Carl Zeiss SMT with customized, tailor-made total Vacuum Solutions which will bring additional value to Carl Zeiss customers and improve the competitiveness of Carl Zeiss products. We see this partnership as a clear win-win situation for both companies giving a direct opportunity for future growth , says Dr. Becker. It is clear that such an achievement can be done only in a close partnership between Carl Zeiss and Varian and is the success of a larger Team in both companies .
Roberto Cerruti, Market Manager, Nanotechnologies & Semiconductors, underlines the marketing aspects of the agreement: This partnership will give us the opportunity to promote the Varian brand through association with the widely recognized Carl Zeiss logo. The agreement represents in fact a reference that qualifies Varian as a Top Class, High Tech worldwide vacuum company, and a strong partner of the best companies in the world. I am sure this will be a powerful marketing vehicle for our business growth .
