It is reported that the Bureau of Coal Geological Exploration of Ningxia Autonomous Region in China total proven coal reserves discovered by the bureau in the region in the past 10 years amount to 27.3 billion tonnes.
The bureau stated that in the next five years it aims to discover an additional 10 billion tonnes of proven coal reserves in Ningxia Autonomous Region.
Since the establishment of the bureau in 1955 a total of 36.9 billion tonnes of proven coal reserves has been discovered in Ningxia Autonomous Region, ranking sixth in terms of such reserves discovered in other regions and provinces of China.
The Ningdong No 1 Project, initiated seven years ago, is one of the main coal mining projects implemented by the bureau.
