Central China's Henan Province has experienced power shortages of nearly 4 gigawatts (GW), 10 percent more than expected, and the shortfall could worsen as demand peaks and if coal transport is interrupted by bad weather, the local grid operator said Friday.
Henan Grid issued an urgent notice December 15 that required subordinate grid companies to implement power rationing and prioritize power supplies to residential and priority users.
