China Southern Airlines announced this week that it will upgrade its Sydney services with a new aircraft next month.
The existing Airbus A330-200 twinjet operating on the airline's daily nonstop flights from Sydney to Guangzhou, China will be replaced by the larger and newer Airbus A330-300.
The A330-300 will be able to carry 292 passengers in a three-class cabin, representing an almost 10 percent increase in seats.
It will also feature the carrier's new fully flat-bed "Apollo" seats in First Class and "Horizon" sleeper seats reclining to 165 degrees in Business Class.
China Southern Airlines General Manager Australia and New Zealand James Liu said the new aircraft played an important role in the carrier's international network development.
He said the series 200 were being used to develop direct routes while the larger series 300 were being used to accommodate growth.
