Luxury cruiser "Discovery" from the US-based Royal Caribbean Cruises Ltd. docked at Huangpu Port on the morning of January 7 with about 1,000 tourists onboard. According to its local host China International Travel Agency (CITS) Guangdong Branch, the tour group is the first 1,000-member tour group to visit China and the first massive overseas tour group in Guangdong in 2010, boding well for Guangzhou as a major destination for overseas tourists.
In response to increasing worldwide interest in Chinese culture and south Guangdong customs, CITS Guangdong Branch has designed various special cultural tours which will bring overseas tourists to the Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall; the Chen Clan Academy, which features folk arts; and the Mausoleum of the Nanyue King, where tourists can explore the local history. |
