The Guangzhou New TV Tower has proceeded to the finishing stage and is now ready for inspection and acceptance. It will be open to the public in June. Admission tickets are of various types, such as package tickets, basic tickets, and tickets for recreational facilities, and the price of a basic ticket is about 100 RMB.
The Guangzhou New TV Tower, standing at the confluence of the Guangzhou new axis and the Pearl River landscape axis, is a key project for Guangzhou to meet the Asian Games.
"After completion, the New TV Tower is expected to attract two to three million tourists for sightseeing per year, at least 7,000 persons per day," said Liang Shuo, president of the Guangzhou New TV Tower Construction Co., Ltd.
The New TV Tower has six high-speed double-deck elevators to carry tourists. These six elevators, with each having a passenger capacity of 21, can carry 250 people at the same time and 1400 tourists per hour. The elevator can reach the speed of up to 10 meters per second, which means that it takes only 45 seconds to reach the 438-meter-tall sightseeing platform on the 84th floor. This is currently the highest one-time lifting-up elevator in the world.
The construction cost of the New TV Tower is 2.2 billion RMB and the investment is expected to be recovered in 10 to 20 years.
