A Photo Exhibition of Asian Multi-Culture and an Asian Games Reading Room opened at Guangzhou Library yesterday, the 15th World Book and Copyright Day.
The Photo Exhibition of Asian Multi-Culture
Themed "Gorgeous Asia", the six-day exhibition is co-hosted by the Games Communication and Promotion Department of the Guangzhou Asian Games Organising Committee (GAGOC) and Bureau of Culture, Radio, Television, Press and Publication of Guangzhou Municipality and presented by Guangzhou Library. About 400 pictures on display are divided into six sections - East Asia, Southeast Asia, South Asia, West Asia, Central Asia and China, presenting diverse cultures and sports in 45 Asian countries and regions. The pictures will also be exhibited at Foshan library.
Meanwhile, the Games Communication and Promotion Department of GAGOC and Guangzhou Library set up an Asian Games Reading Room with a collection of 885 books (1,258 volumes) and 62 audio-visual materials (139 items), which cover a wide range of information about the Asian Games and sports and cultures of different countries and regions in Asia.

The reading room will hold various activities in the future, such as Asian Games English courses and seminars on Asian cultures, to raise awareness of the Games and Asia's diversity among readers.
Officials from the Games Communication and Promotion Department of GAGOC, Bureau of Culture, Radio, Television, Press and Publication of Guangzhou Municipality and consulates of Asian countries in Guangzhou visited the exhibition and the reading room on Friday.
