Thirty new trains destined to run on metro Line 5 arrived in Guangzhou recently. After a 20-day period of testing, they should start operating in June. These thirty additional trains will greatly reduce the waiting time between trains.
After opening for less 5 months, Guangzhou's metro Line 5 already carries 500,000 people everyday. Starting in June, the Guangzhou Metro operator promises up to 27 trains running at the same time on line 5, bringing the total number of trains on line 4 and 5 to over 300.
