The 10th Guangzhou Science and Technology Week shall take place from the May 15th to May 21st. This year's theme is "High-Tech Asian Games, Creative Guangzhou" and the opening ceremony will start at 10:30 this Saturday (15th May) at the Guangzhou Science Center. For the first 3 days, an exhibition shall be held introducing new technologies used in the upcoming Guangzhou Asian Games.
Citizens will be able to visit a variety of exhibitions and participate in activities related to health care, farming, energy conservation, environmental protection and measures against natural disasters. Domestic and foreign experts will be invited to discuss city development strategies, inspect local enterprises and give lectures to the public.
The Science and Technology Week is a national activity held every year since 2001 in the third week of May. The aim is to popularize basic scientific and technological knowledge. The event is seeing its importance grow with Guangzhou's ambition to develop innovative industries.
