Comments A group of children from rural areas of Guangdong Province had a memorable experience at the Shanghai World Expo on May 28, during an event organized by Shenzhen Breo Technology Co., Ltd and the Private Enterprises Joint Pavilion.
The children first visited the exhibition "Peasant Da Vincis" at the Rockbund Art Museum, and then stopped by various pavilions at the Shanghai Expo together with an "Expo grandma."
Their guide has already experienced five World Expos and set a record in 2005 when she entered the Japan's Aichi Expo park 243 times in 185 days.
Chinese artist Duo Fu said that the country cannot let children in poor areas lack color in their childhood.
"The Expo is about the direction of creativity, and we should not only showcase culture and architectural creativity, but also encourage children's imagination and thought, and also demonstrate that the country cares about the growth of its children," he said.
Wang Min, chief director of the Private Enterprises Joint Pavilion extended his welcome and wishes to all the children visiting the Expo, and gave them mascots as gifts for the coming Children's Day.
Visitors present at the site said that the Expo should be a big occasion for children and showcase their spiritual world, which would be beneficial to their wellbeing.
China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCOIC) vice director Zhang Hua, head of the Guangdong Chamber of Commerce, Wang Min, and deputy general secretary of Guangzhou TV, Fu Yan, as well as leading artists including Chen Guangwu and Liao Bangming and heads of Breo, saw some of the visiting children's artwork and posed for pictures with them.
