20 Classic Hong Kong Films Presented in Guangzhou

Write: Anish [2011-05-20]
The Hong Kong film industry saw a peak in the late 20th century with quantities of exceptional cantonese-language films. A large selection of these films are now being screened in six cinemas in Guangzhou until May 29th. 80% of the films shot between the 1960s to the early 2000s have never yet been screened in Chinese mainland. Worth mentioning are a number of films starring the late Hong Kong actor and singer Leslie Cheung. To preserve the memory of this prolific period of Hong Kong's film industry, the Hong Kong Film Development Bureau has reprinted new copies of many films presented this month in Guangzhou.
