The Yuexiu Intellectual Economy Central District Function Enhancement and Space Reengineering Summit Forum and the Yuexiu District Promotion Seminar for Two Major Functional Zones were held at the Garden Hotel on the morning of May 31.
At the forum, participants explore the ways to enhance Yuexiu's northern functional zone, a key industrial functional enhancement zone, and its southern functional zone, which is centered on Guangzhou culture, commerce and tourism on Beijing Road. Yuexiu officials also unveiled 34 projects for the renovation of old towns, villages and factories. These projects involves one-fourth of Yuexiu's physical size. They are set to become the largest urban renewal program in a central district in Guangzhou in the recent 10 years.
These urban renewal projects are not real estate development; rather, they are designed to build two functional zones with an optimized industrial structure and to enhance the functionality of Guangzhou as a central city of China.
Yuexiu party chief Gong Erzhen stated that these projects will provide new space for the district to upgrade and expand its industries and inject fresh vitality into the district by promoting industrial clustering. |
