The greenway of the Sports Park of the Guangzhou Science City, the city's first hill greenway, was completed at end of last month. It passes through the Tennis Center, the American School, and the Crowne Plaza Guangzhou Science City Hotel.
The Sports Park sits atop the Jianta Hill in the Science City, adjacent to the Tennis Center, the International Badminton Center, and many other major sports facilities in the area. It's only a stone's throw from the American School, the Linyu Mansion, the Crowne Plaza Guangzhou Science City Hotel, Huaxia Business Hotel, and other upscale neighborhoods.
The greenway stretches five kilometers across the Science City and blends naturally into the terrains, with the original vegetation preserved intact. It contains a footpath and a bicycle lane. As the greenway is an integral part of the Sports Park, it's connected to the eco-wetland and Yicui Pavilion inside the park, as well as the Tennis Center and many other sports venues outside, providing a superb leisure venue for local people.
So far, 15.9 kilometers of greenways have been completed, including a 6-kilomter greenway around the Bio-island.
