The main celebrations for the 2010 World Tourism Day will be staged in Guangzhou in September 27 to coincide with the opening ceremony of the China Guangdong International Tourism Cultural Festival, announced Guangdong's provincial government on June 3.
The World Tourism Day is a day of celebrations for people working in the tourism industry and for tourists. Designated by the World Tourism Organizations, this year's WTD will be themed around "tourism and biodiversity". Guangzhou will become the main venue for the global celebrations for this special day. Celebrations will be staged simultaneously in more than 160 countries across the world. |
