Guangzhou Party Secretary Zhang Guangning called on Senior Minister Goh Chok Tong at the Istana on Monday afternoon.
Mr Zhang is here on a 4-day visit to better understand Singapore's urban, industrial and social development experiences.
During the meeting, the leaders discussed opportunities for further collaboration between Singapore and Guangzhou.
Mr Zhang also updated Mr Goh on Guangzhou's development focus and policies, as well as on the ongoing Knowledge City project there.
