Located near Huanshi Dong, Taojin Road is a famous street in Guangzhou, known by locals and expats alike for a number of nice restaurants and shops. Yuexiu district authorities have recently decided to transport this small road into Guangzhou's "Wall Street" with large LED screens broadcasting live the fluctuations of the stock market.
Taojin Road seems well suited for its new role as a "financial street." The name itself means "gold" is Chinese and today 11 financial organizations are already located here including the Bank of China, the China Industrial and Commercial Bank, the Construction Bank of China, the Agricultural Bank of China, the Bank of Communications and Standard Chartered Bank.
According to Pan Erhua, a management official for Taojin area, three electronic touch screens will be set up along the street showing the latest stock market information from both home and abroad.
