Guangzhou Party chief Zhang Guangning met with Tan Zuojun, general manager of China State Shipbuilding Corporation (CSSC), and his associates on July 9.
During the meeting, Mr. Zhang express his hope that CSSC will continue to support Guangzhou's economic development, tap its strengths as a leading shipbuilder, and take advantage of the deep shoreline and efficient navigation channels of Nansha Port.
Mr. Zhang also called upon CSSC to strengthen its strategic partnership with Guangzhou to advance the city's shipbuilding industry and build it into the city's pillar industry. He stated that the CPC Guangzhou Municipal Committee and the Guangzhou Municipal Government will remain committed to providing the best environment for CSSC's expansion in Guangzhou.
Mr. Tan expressed his appreciation for Mr. Zhang's remarks, stating that CSSC will enlist the support of national authorities to speed up the adjustment of its energy structure, expand advanced ship building capacity, and set out to establish the CSSC Guangzhou Longxue Shipping Co., Ltd. as a world-class shipbuilder. These steps will facilitate Guangzhou's efforts to build its shipbuilding industry into a pillar industry and to accelerate the transformation of the means of the city's economic growth.
