Guangdong holds mobilisation conference for Asian Games

On Wednesday morning, an Oath Taking and Mobilisation Conference of Guangdong Province for the 16th Asian Games was held in Guangzhou.
An Oath Taking and Mobilisation Conference of Guangdong Province for the 16th Asian Games is held in Guangzhou on August 4 when the Games is 100 days to go.
Wang Yang, Member of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC) and Secretary of the Guangdong Provincial Committee of the CPC, Liu Peng, Minister of the General Administration of Sport of China, and Wang Xinxian, Secretary of the CPC Committee of the China Disabled Persons' Federation, addressed the conference. Huang Huahua, Governor of Guangdong, officiated at the conference. Huang Longyun, Chairman of the Guangdong Provincial Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), also attended the conference.

The conference took place when the Guangzhou 2010 Asian Games was just 100 days to go. The leaders required the whole province to make every effort to stage a "harmonious, green, civilised and clean" Asiad and keep their pledges to the international community.
Officials in different parts of Guangdong listened to the conference through telephones.
Before the conference, Wang Yang, Liu Peng, Wang Xinxian and Huang Huahua met with the staff of the Guangzhou Asian Games Organising Committee (GAGOC) and representatives of the Games' venue engineers, security guards, volunteers, etc.
