The Guangzhou Municipal Economic and Trade Commission revealed that currently Guangzhou was planning to push the development of the"famous snack" program for World Heritage listing by implementing the catering project named "prestigious cooks, restaurants, dishes, streets". It is estimated that by 2015, fifty catering enterprises with an annul turnover of 100 million RMB, 10 chain catering brands, 100 state-level restaurants, two to three listed catering enterprises, a number of flagship food streets with large scale and high influence.
It is also estimated that 30,000 new jobs will be created in Guangzhou as a result of this program and the annual retail sales of the catering industry will be kept growing at a rate of double-digits, ensuriong that Guangzhou continues to lead other big cities in China in this regard.
