The first museum in Guangzhou dedicated to the city's special relationship with the Pearl River opened yesterday (Oct. 28th). Donghaochong Museum ( ) shall present Guangzhou's river history and culture with a diversity of exhibits including old photos, paintings, models of ancient boats, tools and other items.

The small museum covers only 680 square meters but portrays the trade environment, living conditions and history of those living besides the river. Donghaochong museum is open for free from Monday to Saturday.
