Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao arrived at the tree-lined Donghaochong in Guangzhou to convey greetings and appreciation to the volunteers of the 16th Asian Games on the morning of Friday (November 12).
A visit to the Asian Games city volunteer service station was also made. Premier Wen shook hands with every volunteer and talked with Zhao Pi'neng. When Premier Wen asked about how old he was, Zhao was excited to answer with his Cantonese accent, "I'm already in my 70s." Hearing that, Premier Wen held his hands and gave his appreciation.
Zhao told a journalist, "I am still very excited to meet Premier Wen who is so easy-going and approachable. His words are like sincere salutes and encouragement to 590 thousand volunteers."
