On the afternoon of Dec. 16th, the 2010 Award Conference of Headquarters Economy and High-End Services Industry was held in Tianhe District, during which 156 enterprises received awards that amounted to a total of 23.43 million Yuan.
The 156 enterprises that were rewarded cover a wide range of sectors, including financial services, information services, professional services, business and trade, technological services, culture and creation. Compared with last year, the number of awarded enterprises increased by 36, and the amount of award money rose by 2.68 million Yuan. 70 percent of these awarded enterprises are first-time winners. 80 percent of these 156 enterprises are located in Tianhe Bei and Zhujiang New Town, two highly developed commercial centers of Guangzhou.
This year, the economic aggregate of Tianhe District is estimated to exceed 180 billion Yuan. That means the 11% GDP growth target set for Tianhe in the beginning of 2010 will be completed. In the award conference, Liu Yuelun, party secretary of Tianhe District said that high-end industrial development had been set as the top priority in the overall task of shaping a modern industrial system and transforming the economic growth pattern in Tianhe.
Secretary Liu also indicated that high-end services industry and the headquarters focused economy drive would be designated as the centerpiece of the district's 12th five-year plan.
