Gunagzhou-Zhuhai City Railway was opened on the morning of Jan.7, indicating the completion of the railway for passenger transport in the west of Pearl River Delta. The number of passengers dispatched was 14388 person-times from 11:00am to 5:00pm on Jan. 7. The ticket price won't go up during the Spring Festival. If there are too many passengers, stand ticket may be sold.
Two lines of Gunagzhou-Zhuhai City Railway are in trial operation. The main line is from South Guangzhou to North Zhuhai with a total length of 93km. And the branch line is from South Guangzhou to Jiangmen with a total length of 27km. Totally 12 stations were opened yesterday, including Beijiao Station, Shunde Station, Ronggui Station within Shunde; Xiaolan Station, Dongsheng Station, North Zhongshan Station, Zhongshan Station, Nanlang Station, Guzhen Station within Zhongshan; Jiangmen Station and Xinhui Station within Jiangmen; as well as North Zhuhai Station within Zhuhai.
