The world largest airplane maintenance enterprise settles in Guangzhou Baiyun Airport. On March 2nd, Guangzhou Xinke Aviation Technology Co. Ltd. was set up. It is jointly invested by Singapore Technologies Aerospace Ltd. and Guangdong Airport Management Corp. and will begin construction before July. Following FedEx regional hub, it sets another milestone in the development of Guangzhou airport economy.
According to the development plan, the first hangar will be finished construction at the end of this year. Land expropriation for the second hanger has been launched. In 2013, the second hangar will be put into use. 6 hangars will be constructed within 10 years. By then, Baiyun Airport will be the largest airplane maintenance base in the world as it contains totally 15 hangars constructed by Guangzhou Xinke Aviation Technology and GAMECO of China Southern Airlines.
