It is learnt from the newly issued Construction Plan of Guangzhou Internationalized Regional Financial Center (2011-2020) that during the course of constructing Guangzhou to be the internationalized regional financial center (RFC), the development of financial functional districts will be accelerated.
The "two cores", Zhujiang New Town Yuancun Financial and Commercial District and Guangzhou Financial Innovation Service District, are of top priority and will be promoted with other financial clusters in old towns by optimizing and upgrading Yanjiang Lu, Dongfeng Lu, Huanshi Lu and commercial circle in North Tianhe.
By the end of 2010, 43 headquarters or regional headquarters have entered Zhujiang New City, accounting for 20% of the financial institutes in Guangzhou. According to the Construction Plan, the "core effect" of Zhujiang New Town will be fortified. In the next ten years, by utilizing the momentums brought by the full success of the Asian Games, Guangzhou will peruse cluster development of all kinds of financial institutes including foreign and local banks, securities, funds, futures and insurance, and professional financial agents of lawyers, accountants, credit rating, advisory and assessment.
Zhujiang New Town Yuancun Financial and Commercial District will then be an internationalized and modern district and will become a representative for Guangzhou as a RFC and for Guangdong as a strong province of finance.
