China s telecom operators recorded a 462.5 percent year-on-year increase in the number of users of online application stores to 14 million in 2010, reports TheThirdMedia.com.
This number is expected to exceed 100 million in 2012, according to iResearch.
China Unicom (600050) launched its application store, Wostore in November 2010 while China Mobile (0941.HK) and China Telecom (0728.HK) launched their application stores, Mobile Market and E-Surfing Space in 2009.
Shares of China Unicom (600050) rose 1.49 percent to close at 5.44 yuan today.
