AMA introduced at the SIAF in Guangzhou

With its own information stand and a conference, the AMA Association for Sensor Technology was able to contribute to the success of the first SPS Industrial Automation Fair (SIAF) held in Guangzhou (Canton in South China) from the 8th to the 10th of March, 2010.

The SIAF trade fair was organized by the Guangzhou Fair Frankfurt jointly with two other renown Chinese trade-fair organizers, the China Foreign Trade Guangzhou Exhibition Corporation (CFTC) and Guangzhou Overseas Trade Fairs, as well as the Mesago Messe Frankfurt, superseding the CHIFA in Guangzhou. The SIAF follows the conceptual structure and clarity of the successful German SPS/IPC/Drives and was adapted to local conditions as per the prevailing business philosophy.

The significant role of German industrial automation and sensor technology could not be overlooked at the new fair grounds in Guangzhou (the most modern in South Asia). 317 exhibitors from 15 countries and provinces presented their products in two halls. Almost all the big names in the sensor industry were represented by their Chinese subsidiaries with prestigious stands. The statistics after four trade-fair days showed that 16,715 visitors from 40 countries and provinces attended the fair.

As opposed to the Shanghai region, which is moving towards a saturation phase, the industrial development at the Perl river delta already shows a considerable upwards trend. In the past, however, there was no professionally organized platform for the presentation of complex topics, such as industrial automation.
