Siemens held 2010 Northern Forum Focus on West Xinjiang in Yinchuan from August 30 to September 1. Approximately 200 participants attended the Forum, including officials of Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region Government, related associations, senior management of Siemens Ltd., China, as well as Siemens partners and customers. On the Forum, business opportunities brought by the Western Development were fully discussed among the participants.
Mr. Li Rui, Vice Chairman of Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region, introduced the Region s development prospects under the Western Development strategy. The presentation Ningxia Development Policy Introduction by officials of Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region s Development & Reform Commission, and Central Enterprises Should Play Positive Guidance Role in West Development by officials of the Research Center of State-owned Assets Supervision & Administration Commission of State Council, provided the participants an overview picture on the significance and implementation of Western Development.
Mr. Thomas Schmid, Senior Vice President of Siemens Ltd., China and General Manager of Industry Product and System Sales, delivered an opening speech on the Forum. He shared with participants on how Siemens helps the customers increase productivity, save energy cost, and improve the efficiency, by providing world-leading products and technologies, as well as innovative solutions. Meanwhile, Mr. Schmid explained the action plans of Siemens Xinjiang Development Program .
