LED epitaxial wafer and chip maker Genesis Photonics has announced that it will not distribute dividends for 2009 due to a net loss of NT$187 million US$5.82 million or NT$1.51 per share for the year.
Since 2010, the Taiwan-based company has seen orders for applications in lighting devices and backlight units BLU for large-size panels increase, and demand will remain strong in 2011, according to the company.
Genesis posted revenues of NT$1.11 billion in 2009 with an average gross margin of 12.02%. Revenues and after-tax profit in the first quarter of 2010 reached NT$437 million and NT$64 million, respectively.
