It looks as if there's about to be a new war in LED-backlit LCD panels with Acer coming out launching its own eco-friendly unit the day after Samsung launched a sweep of new eco-friendly models.
Taiwanese maker Acer has launched the next in its S3 series with the 27-inch S273HL monitor, featuring LED-backlighting and 1920 1080-pixel resolution.
The new monitor features two HDMI inputs, a dynamic contrast ratio of 12million to one 12M:1 and a response time of two milliseconds 2ms
By not using traditional CCFL cold compact fluorescent lamp lighting, Acer claims power consumption is reduced by up to 68% through the use of white LEDs light-emitting diodes
The S273HL is covered by Acer's Zero bright dot pixel policy and is only 21mm thick.
