Probe card maker MJC Probe MPI saw its revenues hit a record high at NT$284.26 million US$8.83 million in June buoyed by increasing shipments of LED testing equipment, according to the company.
For the first half of 2010, revenues amounted to NT$1.35 billion, an increase of 126.2% from a year earlier. Shipments of LED testing equipment reached 1,068 units during the six-month period.
Shipments of probe cards declined 11.2% sequentially to 304,000 units in June, and totaled 1.7 million units in the first half of 2010 compared to 2.2 million units shipped during the entire year of 2009, the company noted.
The company expects its shipments of probe cards to resume momentum in July/August due to a rebound in demand for handset solutions and LCD driver ICs.
