MIC Electronics, an LED light-emitting diode display products company, entered the lighting segment on Thursday by launching five new categories of lights catering to home, office, hotel and rural needs.
The products include LED bulbs and tubes, lanterns, fittings for hospitality industry and outdoor applications.
The company has sourced LEDs from Taiwan-based Nichia and integrated circuits from Texas Instruments.
M V Ramana Rao, chairman, MIC Electronics, said the products would be sold only through distributor networks to cut margins at intermediate stages.
He said the company targets to sell one million pieces of the LED lamp.
