The LED street lamp market is expected to pick up in the second half of 2010 in response to the Taiwan government's decision to replace 1.3 million street lamps with LED models in 2011.
Sources from Taiwan's LED lighting companies however noted that they have not heard about any large-scale open bids for street lamp replacements so far, and do not expect to do so until the fourth quarter. Substantial demand increases from the government will likely take place in the third quarter of 2011, the sources added.
