LED chipmaker Epistar is expected to report 38-39% and over 40% in gross margin in the second quarter and June, respectively, up from 35.77% in the first quarter, according to market watchers. EPS for the first half should approach NT$3 US$0.094
Formosa Epitaxy's gross margin in the second quarter should reach 42%, and EPS for the first half is projected to hit NT$1.3-1.4.
Tekcore is expected to report more than 30% in gross margin for the second quarter and NT$0.7 in first-half EPS on increased shipment share of high-power LEDs.
LED chip packager Everlight Electronics is projected to announce NT$8.046 billion in first-half revenues, up 72.27% on year. Second-quarter revenues are expected to rise 24.46% sequentially. Gross margin for the second quarter will come to 31-32% and EPS for the first half at US$$3.
Fellow packaging house Edison Opto has already released first-half results. Revenues for the period rose 129.84% on year to NT$1.486 billion, and after-tax profit increased 165% from a year earlier to NT$313 billion or NT$4.07 per share on 33% gross margin.
Lead-frame maker I-Chiun Precision Industry has also announced first-half results. Due to appreciation in material costs, the company's gross margin in the second quarter fell to 21.2% from 23.2% in the first quarter and 25.2% a year ago. EPS in the first half came to NT$1.47.
