More Rural People Under Insurance
This year, Xinjiang plans to extend the pilot project of new rural endowment insurance to the whole region from the pervious 80 percent of counties, so as to benefit more farmers and herdsmen.
Luntai is one of the first batch of pilot counties. The insurance payment standard ever had five grades ranging from 100 to 500 yuan, but now it is increased to 10 grades from 100 to 1000 Yuan. The more they pay, the more pension they get. Now farmers and herdsmen take part in the insurance enthusiastically.

Now the coverage rate of new rural endowment insurance in Luntai County has reached 95.1 percent, with 46,355 participants. About 7.91 million Yuan pension has been granted.
After two-year efforts, Xinjiang has completed the new rural endowment insurance work in 56 pilot counties and cities. The coverage rate is 61 percent, three times higher than the national average. 3.58 million peole have taken part in the insurance, making up 85 percent of the people in pilot places.
