Sichuan is the hometown of Chinese wine and Champagne-Ardenne of France is the home of champagne. On September 28, the agreement on friendly cooperative relations between the two provinces was signed. Jiang Jufeng, Governor of Sichuan Province met with Jean-Paul Bachy, President of Champagne-Ardenne and his delegation. Jiang also attended the signing ceremony.
The two provinces agreed to strengthen inter-governmental exchanges and visits so as to better promote the bilateral economic and trade cooperation, and to carry out exchanges in other fields which are inductive to deepen understandings and friendship between the two peoples. The two sides will jointly promote exchanges and cooperation in economy, agriculture, wine industry, culture, education and universities.
Therefore, governments and relevant enterprises from both sides have conducted initial contacts and consultations and preliminary cooperation intentions in areas such as freight, direct passenger flight and aviation logistics were reached.
Jiang Jufeng briefed the guests on post-earthquake restoration and reconstruction situation of completing the three-year reconstruction plans within two years . He expressed sincere thanks to the concern and support French government and people have given to Sichuan Province. When describing Sichuan s conditions, Jiang said that as a prominent province in Western China, Sichuan boasts comparative advantages in resources, science and technology, personnel and market.
Industries including electronic information, equipment manufacturing, new energy, medicine, food, and automobile are experiencing rapid development and integrated transportation hub of Western China has been effectively promoted. China currently is pushing forward a new round of Western Development and Sichuan Province is vigorously developing western economic highland.
Champagne-Ardenne shares a lot in common with Sichuan Province in natural resources and industrial structure and he believes that the two sides enjoy a broad space for cooperation in speeding up the process of development. He hopes that the two sides could regard the establishment of friendly cooperative relations as an opportunity to further enhance exchanges and cooperation in all respects.
President Jean-Paul Bachy praised and admired the achievements Sichuan has made in economic and social development, especially after the post-quake restoration and reconstruction. He said that one of their main objectives for entrepreneur to visit Sichuan is to promote economic cooperation with Sichuan Province and hopefully to further expand room for economic cooperation between China and France. He believes that the two provinces can carry out extensive cooperation in aviation logistics, environmental-protection, automobile manufacturing, wine industry and other fields.
