SHANGHAI, Oct. 16 (Xinhua) -- The Shanghai World Expo 2010 has received more than 64 million visitors, a record in the history of the event, said an announcement on the official Expo website Saturday.
The Expo Park had received about 64.22 million visitors by 11:38 a.m. Saturday, the 168th day since the event started on May 1.
The previous record was set during the 1970 Osaka World Expo in Japan, which about 64 million people attended over six months.
The Shanghai Expo, the first expo in China, will close on Oct. 31.
