Prof. Lin Yifu Elected Corresponding Fellow of British Academy

Peking University, Beijing, Sept. 13, 2010: On July 22, Prof. Justin Lin Yifu, Honorary Dean of PKU National School of Development, Senior Vice President and Chief Economist of World Bank, was elected as a Corresponding Fellow of the British Academy in its annual meeting.

Founded in 1902, the British Academy is the National Academy for the Humanities and the Social Sciences of Britain. As an independent and self-managed Fellowship composed of nearly 900 British and foreign academicians, it takes a lead in representing the humanities and social sciences, evaluating outstanding research achievements, fostering and promoting advanced research, facilitating international exchange and collaboration, providing an independent and authoritative source of advice, participating in debates on public policy, and publishing research achievements. New fellows of the British Academy are elected among excellent scholars in humanities and social sciences in the annual meeting. Fellow of the British Academy is the highest honor conferred by the British Academy and the highest recognition of the recipient's academic achievements as well.
