PKU professor wins Pu Shan Award

Peking University, Mar. 10, 2011: PKU Professor Yao Yang's paper "Structural Change and the Balassa-Samuelson Effect" won the second Pu Shan World Economy Dissertation Reward (Pu Shan Award) recently.


The Pu Shan Award, in memory of Professor Pu Shan, a respectable Chinese expert on world economy, is set up by Chinese Society of World Economy in the charge of Chinese Academy of Social Sciences. By rewarding excellent original dissertations on world economy, Pu Shan Award aims at the promotion of the study of world economy in China, the cultivation of more experts in n the field as well as a broader global communication. It adopts the common selection mechanism similar to that of corresponding awards worldwide. Great influence within Chinese academy has shown through years' trial, for it points out research direction, establishes academic regulation, and propels Chinese world economy study in general.
