On August 21st, a charity activity with a theme of Zhouqu, we are together was held in Terminal 3 of the Capital Airport. Beijing Times, BCIA and China Red Cross Foundation jointly held this fund raising activity for Zhouqu mudslide area. Hopefully, the on-site fundraising can provide some help for post-disaster relief and reconstruction to the mudslide area in Zhouqu, Gansu.
The activity appealed each individual to take part in public service activities so that everyone s small contribution together can make a big difference to help those in needs. The voluntary and openness of the activity attracts many people s participation on site. Leaders of the organizers, stars in show business, volunteers and passengers took active role in donating money, which made a very touching picture.
According to report, a total donation of 2.7million yuan was collected through the activity, all of which will be managed by China Red Cross Foundation and put into post-disaster relief and constructions in Zhouqu.
On August 18th, in response to Civil Aviation Administration s appeal of making donations to Zhouqu mudslide area in Gansu, over 1600 employees of Capital Airport donated 146,588 yuan within a short period of only 20 minutes. Party committee of CAH called on party organizations at all levels and all party members to carry forward the traditional Chinese virtues of when disaster strikes, help comes from all sides , work in unity and help each other and care for the needy and those with extreme difficulties , and give a hand to people in the disaster area, so as to show their solicitude.
Capital Airport stated, through this public service activity of Zhouqu, we are together , they believe that if only everyone work together and take active actions, many a little will make a mickle, so as to help people of Zhouqu to fight against disaster and rebuild their beautiful homeland.
