In order to build an environment friendly airport and create low-carbon lifestyle, during 8:30-9:30 p.m. of March 27th, Beijing Capital International Airport, the busiest airport in Asia, will shut down nearly half of its lighting and landscape lighting, including its 3 terminals and 3 parking areas, while keeping normal operation of the airport.
It is reported that the event is Capital Airport s response to the World Wildlife Fund (WWF) s call on Earth Hour . On the premise of the normal operation, the Capital Airport participates in the global Earth Hour with other cities in the world, jointly takes the responsibility of global climate change. Besides, in terminals and parking areas which most passengers pass through, Earth Hour posters are placed to draw passengers attention to environmental protection and climate changes.
