On January 20, the 10th Rural Youth Cultural Festival and the 4th Month of Farmers were launched at Chaoda's production base in Lianjiang Guanban production base, Fujian province. The Rural Youth Cultural Festival was co-organized by the Fuzhou Committee and the Lianjiang Committee of the Communist Youth League of China, Chaoda and Fujian Media Group.
Featuring the theme of implementing the spirit of 17th CPC National Congress to build a new countryside, the events encompassed a variety of cultural activities for rural youth. The activities were aimed to promote sustainable growth of agriculture and to exhibit the organizers care for farmers. Fabulous presents were given to farmers during the opening ceremony, including hand-picked seedlings, medical check up forms, technical support forms, start-up business forms and information cards.
During the event, a ceremony was held to mark the establishment of a youth specialist team at Chaoda. A leader from the Fuzhou Committee of the Communist Youth League of China had high hopes for the work of team members. Its members are mainly young people who have worked with farmers at the production level for a long time.
As a result, they understand the needs and the difficulties of farmers and agricultural practice better. By leveraging its size and experience, Chaoda is in a better position to promote new plant varieties and new technology by taking advantage of research and development. Farmers incomes will thus be increased and the three rural issues related to agriculture, rural areas and farmers will be effectively addressed.
Schooling and lack of spiritual lives have long been the problems to the rural areas. To address the issues, Chaoda donated a green library to Lianjiang Guanban Primary School. Meanwhile, the Fuzhou Committee of the Communist Youth League of China donated books to the local farmers to increase their knowledge of agricultural technology.
A number of performing arts events highlighting the cultural features of rural areas were staged, along with a farming skills competition between the youth. Specialists provided free advisory services to local farmers, ranging from electrical appliance repair, legal advice and family planning etc. These services were widely welcomed by the residents and thus created a harmonious atmosphere in the rural areas.
