On 7 July, Ms. Sun Chunlan, Secretary of the Fujian Provincial CPC Committee, hosted a rural work seminar with the aim of exchanging ideas with industry leaders regarding the issues of further improvement of agricultural output, increasing farmer's income, and rural area development.
Mr. Kwok Ho, Chairman of Chaoda, was invited to attend the seminar and shared ideas with the sector's experts, scholars, entrepreneurs and government officials. Chairman Kwok expressed ideas and suggestions on the issues of current rural area development, the change of agricultural development, the upgrade of agricultural modernization, the acceleration of township development, and the harmonious development of city and rural areas.
After listening to the ideas, Ms. Sun concluded that in order to do a good job for the agricultural and rural area development in Fujian, the first thing is to have an open mindset and the first mover advantage. The government should continuously pursue innovation in agricultural operations and rural work mechanism as well as strengthen the dynamics and vibrancy of rural area development.
Secondly, the government should adhere to applying industrialization concepts in agricultural development with the aims of speeding up the change of agricultural development and upgrading agricultural modernization. Thirdly, the government should secure and improve the living conditions in the rural areas with increased investment in rural areas and by increasing farmers' income.
Fourthly, the government should integrate the development of cities and rural areas as well as adhere to the principles of "industry subsidizes agriculture" and "cities support rural areas", with an aim of speeding up the development of new rural areas and township.
Ms. Sun emphasized that agricultural industrialization is the key solution to solve the "Three Rural Issues". Departments at all levels should conscientiously implement preferential agricultural policies and efforts to solve difficulties and bottlenecks, and to further strengthen agricultural and rural area development as well as to achieve better development for the "Three Rural Issues" in Fujian Province.
Mr. Yang Yue and Mr. Zhang Zhinan, officials of Fujian provincial government, also attended the seminar.
