The year of 2007 has witnessed break-through achievements in the patent jobs of BOE. The group has applied many patents with self-researched and self-developed core technologies as the background, with the amount of patents approved and authorized increasing from 15 in 2003, 20 in 2004 and 31 in 2005 to 67 in 2006, which has shown a tendency of year-on-year increase. In 2007, the amount of patents applied amazingly hit 240, while the amount of patents authorized reached 25, which both exceeded the targets set at the beginning of the year.
The new era has imposed new requirements on enterprise management. In order to quickly adapt to the intellectual property right rules of WTO, BOE has brought the patent jobs into the important working contents of enterprise management. Since 2003, leaders of BOE have motivated to ask the enterprises to actively develop patent jobs, instill the technological innovation idea into the staff s mind and cultivate the staff to deal with intellectual property right.

In 2007, based on the actual situations of the headquarters, it formulated many patent management rules including Patent Management Methods of the Group and Patent Business Target Baseline of the Group to promote working efficiency of the patent management of the group. After many preparatory jobs improved day by day, the group successfully got 40 patents approved in the second half year of 2007.
In 2007, BOE Optoelectronics Technology Co., Ltd (BOEOT) set a sum of 200 patents as the target. Facing the tough jobs and hard work, BOEOT, the company that dared to undertake pressure and challenges, gave full play to the vigor of self innovation and the spirit to overcome the difficulty, and satisfactorily completed the target. In the whole year of 2007, BOEOT applied 200 patents at home and 60 patents abroad.
The year of 2007 turned out to be a most fruitful year since the patent jobs progressed for years in BOE. Now, when there is much fiercer competition in world s LCD display market, the enterprise is facing new opportunities and challenges, and the intellectual property right protection is the key for the enterprise to implement technological innovation. Intellectual property job has become the key for the development of BOE. Only through the possession of core technologies and independent intellectual property rights, can the enterprise stand firmly in the markets that are full of fiercer and fiercer competition.
