The trial run for TRT system of the world s largest COREX-C3000 furnace, the world s largest smelting-reduction shaft, was successfully completed recently in Baosteel Medium-plate Company.
The TRT system of COREX furnace is the first one in China, which is designed for power generation by utilizing the rich gas resources produced by the COREX furnace. This is the first annual overhaul since the COREX-C3000 furnace was commissioned. And this is also the first time for MCC Baosteel Technology Services Co., Ltd. (BTS) to undertake maintenance work for TRT system of COREX furnace, as well as for generator system.
During the implementation of the overhaul, quite a few difficulties have been encountered in terms of: (i)adjustment of levelness for the lower shell of the turbine; (ii) adjustment of coaxiality between the turbine and the rotor; and (iii) ending beat. Basing upon the rich experiences of equipment maintenance accumulated in the past years, BTS staff made scientific arrangement for the project implementation and conquered various difficulties. On this ground, they successfully complete the annual overhaul for the TRT system of the COREX furnace, and thus filled a technical gap in this regard.
