The commencement meeting of forging fabrication of Xianning 1# RPV, which is the China s first inland AP 1000 nuclear power station, was held in CFHI Business Hotel in August 4th, 2010. Jian Jingwen, deputy director of SNPTC, Sun Wenke, general manager of SNPEC, Bian Shuming, deputy general manager of Xianning Nuclear Power Co., Ltd., Zheng Guangming, director of Shanghai Nuclear Engineering R&D Institute and several other experts attended the meeting, which was presided over by the vice president of CFHI Wang Baozhong.
The successful start of forging fabrication of Xianning 1# RPV marks another milestone of CFHI in achieving the domestic production of AP1000 RPVs subsequent project construction. It shows that China has made a significant progress in the independent construction of AP1000 nuclear power stations in the process of introducing the 3rd generation nuclear technology.
In his speech Wang Baozhong said that CFHI is constantly improving its capabilities in supplying whole sets of forgings of primary system of 3rd or 2nd plus generations nuclear islands. Besides it advantage in the fabrication of RPVs, CFHI has also made breakthroughs in the R&D of fabrication technologies of steam generator, AP1000 pump casing and RCS pipeline.
Wang expressed his gratitude on behalf of CFHI to the National Energy Resource Bureau, SNPTC, SNPEC, Xianning Nuclear Power Co., Ltd. and Shanghai Nuclear Engineering R&D Institute for their trust and support to CFHI. He promised that CFHI will strictly abide by its quality principle in every single process of nuclear power fabrication and keep in mind that there is no minor issue in nuclear regarding. CFHI will deliver reliable products to the customers on schedule and to make greater contributions to large-scale development of AP1000 projects in China.
On the meeting, SNPEC representative notified the result of its inspection on the preparation adequacy of CFHI in fabricating forgings for the Xianning 1# RPV. The project manager of CFHI also reported on the material preparation and fabrication schedule.
