CFHI and ShenGu Reach Intentional Agreement on Supplying AP1000 Main Pump Casings

Information from the commencement meeting of AP1000 pump casing trial pieces shows that CFHI and Shenyang Blower Works Group Co., Ltd. have reached an intentional agreement on supplying AP1000 main pump casings. In the meanwhile, CFHI has formally started its R&D of domestic production of AP1000 main pump casings.

The commencement meeting was held among representatives from CFHI, SNPEC, Shenggu Co., Ltd., Shanghai Nuclear Engineering R&D Institute, CHHC Hunan Taohuajiang Nuclear Power Co., Ltd. and presided over by Wang Baozhong, the vice president of CFHI. The representatives have reached a unanimous consent to the start of trial piece fabrication by CFHI.

AP1000 belongs to the 3^rd generation of PWR technology. Since 2007, CFHI has been making several breakthroughs in key technologies in the process of R&D and fabrication. Domestic production has been realized on some giant forgings, such as the AP1000 RPVs and SGs. Main pump is the particular important equipment in the AP1000 PWRs that differs from the main pumps of traditional PWRs, which brings a great difficulty for domestic production.

This commencement meeting marks the R&D of AP1000 main pump casings has stepped into a substantially operational phase. In addition, CFHI and Shengu also agree on the signing of supplying contract of the above equipment.
