The revamp key project of 120 tons electro slag re-melting furnace put into operation in Hydraulic Press Workshop of Steel Casting and Forging Business Department, successfully cast 80-ton class electro slag ingot at 10 am on August 26th. The operation of this equipment marked CFHI has already had the ability of supply high quality of electro slag ingot for low carbon stainless steel forging such as ultra-supercritical power station high-medium pressure rotor and nuclear power main pipe line, met the production demand of key forging with large scale high quality and high purity, improved the technical level of China s large scale electro slag melting equipment, cemented the solid foundation of improving large scale forging extremely ability, to realize the localization of high end forging, build world class casting and forging base.
The feature of electro slag metallurgy after electro slag re-melted, is not only with high purity, good surface, high availability coefficient of ingot, oriented crystallization and compact structure, but also eliminate the disadvantage such as anisotropy, macrosegregation, shrink hole and inclusion inside of normal large scale ingot specially in the field of key products such as nuclear power, ultra-supercritical rotor, hydrogenation and military product, has irreplaceable superiority.
