Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada visits Tongwei

January, 21, Vice President of Canola Council of Canada Dr. Dave Hickling, Program Manager of Canola Meal, Les Nernberg, Director General of AAFC, Fred Gorrell, and Manager/Trade Commissioner of Canadian Commercial Corporation, Chengdu Representative Office, Ricky Qian, paid a visit to Tongwei at the company of Tongwei s outside Director, Chinese representative of Canola Association of Canada, Dr. Wang Ruojun. The guests received warm welcome from board chairman of Tongwei Group Mr. Liu Hanyuan, and general manager Mr. Yan Hu.

Mr. Yan extended warm welcome for the guests. Mr. Gorrell introduced to Mr. Liu and Mr. Yan that Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada attaches great importance to Canola trade. China is the biggest importer of Canada s canola and rapeseed. He further expressed his wish to establish cooperation with China s leading company in aquaculture like Tongwei. He made presentations on the production information of Canadian canola, rapeseed meal, and rapeseed oil, as well as the export trade info to China.

At the meeting, the two sides formed Memorandum of Cooperation Talk. Later, the guests paid a visit to Tongwei aquaculture science and technology park and Tongwei animal nutrition company.
